Weekend Variety Wireless - Hour 3 - 27/05/18

Listen Later

Documentary A Murder in Mansfield explores the story of a 12 year old boy interrogating his father about the murder of his mother.
Graeme speaks with Collier Landry, the man who was determined to get the truth about his mothers death in 1990.
Mr Boyle says his documentary was made as he had a desire to do something with this story, turn a negative into a positive.
"Out of this tragic story, we witness the power of human resilience."
Listen to the full interview with Collier Landry above.
We felt it was a point of history that really needed to be told, and to be told in a really personal, human way.
Graeme Hill is joined by Quinn Kanaly and Noel Dockstader, the makers of Point Of No Return, a gorgeously shot documentary following the first solar powered flight circumnavigating the earth.
Ms Kanaly says they have both made a lot of history and science documentaries, and have a real passion for environmental stories.
Soaring at 28,000 feet without a drop of fuel, nothing is predictable. Not the weather, not the technology, not the fate of a man alone for five days in a fragile, first-of-its-kind solar-powered aircraft 10 years in the making.
Mr Dockstader explains the pilots in the film share a love of going into the unknown of doing something ground-breaking.
