Hello VAPA Community! This

is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! There is no school Monday this week and

Tuesday is a regular day. Hola Comunidad VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con

algunos anuncios! No hay escuela el lunes y martes de esta semana es un día

normal.

This is Hispanic Heritage

Month through October 15th and October Is Bully Prevention, College Awareness,

Cultural Diversity, Disability Awareness, Filipino American History, LGBT

History, Breast Cancer Awareness, Substance Abuse Prevention, And Domestic

Violence Awareness Month. Walk to School Day is October 5.

We continue to be very busy

at VAPA. Our teachers have been meeting with their homeroom students holding

academic success sessions while reviewing their grades from the first progress

report. Please note that our Parent Conferences will be on October 19 and 20

and we will be using the Student-Led Parent Conferencing model that we used

last year. This is the opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their

teacher and with them. The next Progress Report is an important one for our

student athletes because it determines eligibility for the remainder of the

Fall Sports season. Students must maintain at least a C average to participate

in sports and extracurricular activities.

This is Homecoming week! We

are having student contests and events all week leading up to our Homecoming

Rally on Friday, the Homecoming football Games at 4 and 7 pm on Friday, and the

Homecoming Dance on Saturday! Have you been attending our football games? If not,

Friday is a great day to start!

Lastly, any students who are

auditioning for the Music Center Spotlight Awards program need to confirm their

participation with Mr. Seura for drama, Ms. Brett fro dance, or with me for

music. Our Spotlight Showcase is October 10 and our Spotlight Recording

Sessions will be October 11 and 13. The Spotlight audition videos are due to

the Music Center by October 17.
