February 5, 2017
Good evening VAPA community. This is Dr. Trimis with your weekly announcements. Monday will be a shortened day and we will have Coffee with the Principal on Friday at 8:30 am. Buenas noches a la comunidad VAPA. Este es el Dr. Trimis con sus anuncios semanales. El lunes será un día acortado y tendremos Café con el Principal el viernes a las 8:30 am.
This is Black History Month. We are celebrating all month including an assembly with presentations and performances at the end of the month.
Congratulations to all of our performers and speakers who participated in our articulation road shows this past week at several of our middle school feeders and our community Open House yesterday. Our VAPA students were articulate and motivating speakers and exceptional and inspiring performers! The events were part of our recruitment plan for the Zone of Choice selection process which takes place through the end of the month. Please refer any interested families to our office if they have questions or to our website for more information.
Congratulations to all of our scholar-artist-athletes as the Legacy Spring Sports season begins to come to a close. This is your final opportunity to see some of our students on the field or on the court. For up-to-date sports information, go to www.legacytiger.com
And, lastly, congratulations to Coach Avalos and our VAPA Academic Decathlon Team who completed their first season at Roybal High School yesterday with the Super Quiz. Several VIPs were there supporting our students and the event including our superintendent, school board president and board members, and senior staff. I was super proud of our team who did an amazing job and proved that our school has the talent and ability to be competitive in this kind of academic event alongside their wonderful and exquisite talents in the arts! We will honor our ACADECA team at our academic awards town hall meeting this Friday.
