Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Tuesday is a shortened day. Hola comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios! El martes es un día acortado.
April is April Is Asian Pacific Islander Heritage, Autism Awareness, Financial Literacy, Jazz Appreciation, Mathematics Awareness, Military Child, National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy, National Child Abuse Prevention, National Poetry, Parkinson Awareness, Public Schools, Sexual Assault Awareness, Stress Awareness, and Young Child Month.
Our School Site Council meets on Monday at 4 PM in Rm. D100. If you are a member, please be sure to attend; reaching a quorem is critical for this meeting.
This week several of our VAPA students will be performing in the LAUSD Benefit for Arts Education, “We Are One”, Thursday at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Please support our students and arts education by attending. Ticket information is on our website.
Thank you to all of the juniors who came to school on Saturday for our special program to assist with math prep along with students who are taking our SAT Prep online assisted classes on Saturdays. Thank you also to our teachers who taught the classes on Saturday.
Congratulations to all of our sports teams who continue to have excellent seasons this Spring. Please come out and support the baseball, softball, swim, cheer, and boys tennis team at home or away games.
Congrats to Legacy Color Guard who had a great competition today at Sweetwater High school increasing their score form their last competition by 10 points. Finals are in Orange County on April 21. Good luck to Legacy Cheer competing this Saturday in their next league meet. Good luck also to the VAPA Jazz Choir competing this Saturday at the Oceanside Jazz Festival at Mira Costa College.
Though the regular Zone of Choice application season has closed, we can still take students in on a space-available basis and current students may apply for one-time transfers. We have space for more students. Please spread the word to family and friends.
A reminder to students to be aware of new clubs, auditions, and other opportunities by listening to morning announcements, fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
