Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Hola comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios!
First of all, the Open Enrollment Application Window is now open and we still have some openings, so please spread the word. Anyone who is interested in attending VAPA should see us at the office as soon as possible.
This month is Mental Health Awareness Month, Foster and Kinship Care Awareness Month and we are celebrating National Teacher and Substitute Teacher Appreciation Week this week.
Our Advanced Placement Exams start this week. We wish all students taking any AP exams the best of luck.
Congratulations to all of our sports teams who continue to have excellent seasons this Spring and will be playing in the play-offs and post-season games. Last week were the League Finals for Swim and Track and Field and this week ion Thursday and Friday are the City Finals for Track and Field and Swim. Don’t miss our Boys Volleyball Team in a play-off game at Jordan High School this Tuesday at 7 pm and our Softball Team in a play-off game at home on Thursday at 3 pm.
This week be sure to attend the first of our Spring Fest Programs with the Vocal Music show on Friday at 6:30 pm. We will have Spring Fest Previews this week at 2:15 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
All ninth graders must return their field trip permission forms for the three-day ACE program this week. The awesome three-day event is in the South Bay on May 16-18.
A reminder to stay on top of all your classwork and assignments. Finals will be here soon and we want all of our students to pass all their classes with a C or better. For seniors, a reminder Prom is on May 19, Senior Recital and Awards Gala is on June 30, Grad Night on June 2, Senior Breakfast and Graduation Practice is on June 6, and Graduation is on June 7. We will start Senior Choir rehearsals for any seniors who want to sing and dance at graduation on May 14.
A reminder to students to be aware of new clubs, auditions, and other opportunities by listening to morning announcements, fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
