This week is National Arts in Education Week, Friday starts National Hispanic Heritage Month, and this past week was National Suicide Prevention Week. Today is the National Day of Remembrance and National Patriot Day. Listen for another message just for this remembrance. Thank you to all of our parents who attended Back-to-School Night and to our teachers, staff, student performers, and student volunteers and translators. It was a great event! The first progress reports are being sent home this week. Please encourage your students to continue to stay on top of classwork, homework, and other classroom expectations. I encourage all of our parents and students to register for School Loop where you can find the latest information and student grades. Parents may also register for the LAUSD Parent Information Passport system. Next year, our entire district will be using this new Passport portal program and a program called Schoology for online access to student grades. More information is on our website as well as links to our social media platforms at www.vapalegacy.com Pease remember to apply for the federal meals program at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application. This application will help us secure much needed funding in addition to providing many fee waivers or dramatic savings for our students on AP tests, SAT, ACT, college applications and more. Please continue to support our student scholar-athletes and performing artists. We are in the thick of the Fall Sports season and many of our students are preparing for upcoming auditions and concerts. That's it for now. Have a great week and I'll see you in school!
