Aug. 27, 2017
Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Tuesday is a shortened day. Please note that next weekend is a long weekend with no school Friday, September 1st and Monday, September 4th.
This Thursday we will have our School Site Council, Shared Decision-Making Council, and English Learners Advisory Council Orientation and Elections in the Library at 5 pm. Please consider running for one of the councils. We need representation from students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Students, please review our website and social media feeds as well as the bulletin boards around campus and our weekly student bulletin about information for upcoming auditions and club meetings. Any students who are interested in performing groups or sports teams, should contact the director or coach in charge of that particular group or team. Contact info is on our website or available in the office. Many groups will be presenting at the Aloha Assembly this Thursday and Club Rush on September 5.
There are still opportunities to audition for Real Life, the Musical this Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Please see Mr. Cuevas if interested in the band and color guard and drop by the music room on Monday at lunch to find out about our glee club.
The grading window for the first Progress Report is soon. Please see your teachers about any questions regarding student grades and missing work.
A couple of very big deadlines are coming soon, the More Than A Meal Application for Federal Free and Reduced Lunch in October and Norm Day, our enrollment deadline, in September. Looking forward, please plan on joining us for Back to School Night on September 14 and our Hispanic Heritage Concert on September 28. Please join us for our first home football game on Sept. 8 (7 pm) and see our students on Telemundo the same day at 5 am.
That’s it for now. Have a great week and I'll see you at school!
Take Care,
Dr. Edward Trimis, Principal
