Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Tuesday is a shortened day.¡Hola Comunidad de VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios! El martes es un día acortado.
This is Hispanic Heritage Month. In celebration of our Chicano and Latino heritage, we will have a special Latino Heritage Celebration concert on Thursday at 6 pm featuring several of our performing groups including our Jazz Band, A Cappella and Jazz Singers, Dance Team, Glee Club, Vocal Ensemble, Choir, and Dreamers Choir, and Mariachi Ensemble. We will also finalize membership in a few of our school councils at the event. Please join us!
This Wednesday, we will have a School Site Council and Local School Leadership Council meeting on Wednesday at 3:30 pm. This is our council from last year, so if you are a member, please join us. Next month we will convene our new council.
Tomorrow there will be a special event at the South Gate Municipal Auditorium from 9 to 11:30 am, Coffee With the Superintendent. Superintendent Huerta and his team from Local District East will be jojned by the Mayor of South Gate and South Gate City Officials with all the principals from South Gate area schools. This is a rare opportunity to speak with our superintnendent and local officials while hearing about the good news from all of the schools in our area, including Legacy VAPA High School. Please join us.
There is no home football game this week. Please join us for our next game on October 6.
A reminder to students to be aware of new clubs, auditions, and other opportunities by listening to morning announcements, fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
Spotlight Auditions are in October with the recital on October 6 and the recording sessions the following week. New clubs include the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, and the Anime Club.
