Our Father, who is in heaven
Hallowed be your name!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word waswith God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. John 1:1-4
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darknessdid not overcome it.
There was a man sent from God whose name was John. Hecame as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but he came to testify about the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. John 1:5-9
Give us this day our daily bread
For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now. Not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits—we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. Romans 8:22-25
Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors
In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evilone
He was in the world, and the world was created throughhim, and yet the world did not recognize him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children ofGod. John 1:10-12
