Our Father, who is in heaven

Hallowed be your name!

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim…

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
     the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. Isaiah 6:1-4

Be still in the presence of the Lord,and wait patiently for him to act. Psalm 37:7

Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven

Trust in the Lord and do good.
     Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
 Take delight in the Lord,
     and he will give you your heart’s desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.
     Trust him, and he will help you.
 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
     and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:3-6
Teach me what it is to take delight in you, Lord. Help me to trust you and commit all of my hopes, dreams, plans, and steps to your authority. Ultimately, I want you to infuse your wisdom, good plans, and beauty into my desires so that when you give me all my heart’s desires, I am blessed and it is for my good and your glory. 
Give us this day our daily bread

Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent,
     and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.
They will not be disgraced in hard times;
     even in famine they will have more than enough. Psalm 37:18-19

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
     He delights in every detail of their lives.
 Though they stumble, they will never fall,
     for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37-23:24

I am in awe that you, King of heaven, take notice of me. Not only taking notice, but directing steps and delighting in every detail of my life. You invite me to ask you for all my needs and you promise to take care of me. I take this moment to both cast my cares & anxieties on you as well as ask for what I need today. Thank you for providing for me every single day! Help me remember to thank you as the day goes on for every single provision. Every good and perfect gift is from above.
Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Isaiah 6:5-7
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one

Put your hope in the Lord.
     Travel steadily along his path.
 He will honor you by giving you the land.
     You will see the wicked destroyed. Psalm 37:34

I want to follow on your path, Lord. Your ways are good. Your plans are good. It is hard to stay the path as we are weak, prone to wander, distraction, control-reactions, and quick solutions. Please help us to rely on you, call on you, and ask for help in all our trials and challenges that we face today and in the coming days. Help us to rely not on our own understanding but instead rely on your steadfast love and faithfulness to your promises. Please protect us from the evil one who wants to steal from, kill and destroy anyone that represents you. You are stronger and able to protect us. 
Now to him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of his glory, without blemish and with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
