Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Hola comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios!
March is the month where we recognize, celebrate, or keep in our memory the American Red Cross, Arts Education, Multiple Sclerosis, Music in our Schools, Nutrition, Save Your Vision, Social Work, Women’s History, and Standing with Immigrant families.
Thank you to our faculty, staff, students, and families who all contributed to making our WASC Accreditation Visit this past week a success. We will hear details regarding the official accreditation term before summer. Our full accreditation visit will be in three years and we will continue our work outlined in our WASC Action Plan, Single Plan for Student Achievement, and VAPA’s Strategic Plan immediately.
Thank you to our math faculty who worked with our entire 11th grade class this Saturday on math skills needed in college and on upcoming high-stakes tests. There are 2 more sessions held the next two Saturdays. Our expectation is all current VAPA juniors participate.
Congratulations to our Legacy Cheer Team who competed Friday at Huntington Park in the CIF, Easter regionals. Congrats also to our Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer Teams who were both Eastern League Champions and to all of our Spring Sports teams, playing now.
We welcome all of our newest Legacy VAPA Tigers as the students for the Class of 2023 have just been notified and will be receiving their welcome packets this week. We still have a few openings for new students.
We wish our 11th graders the best of luck as they start the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments this week. Looking forward, we wish show choir and color guard the best of luck on their competitions this weekend and please note our Parent Conference Night is Thursday, March 23, from 5 to 7:30 pm.
A reminder to students to be aware of new clubs, auditions, and other opportunities by listening to morning announcements, fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
That’s it for now. Have a great week and I’ll see you at school!
Take Care,
Dr. Edward Trimis, Principal
