Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements. We are on a regular schedule every day until final exam week.
Hola Comunidad VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios. Estamos en un horario regular todos los días hasta la semana del examen final.
This Wednesday at lunch is College Signing Day as we celebrate our many graduating seniors who have decided which college, university, or post-secondary program they will be attending in the Fall.
Please plan to join us for Open House this Thursday, May 2. We will start with an opening meeting for parents and families of new and prospective students at 5 pm, student performances beginning at 5:30 pm, with our classroom visits beginning at 5:45 pm. Open House is an event to celebrate student success in all classes. If you would like to schedule a meeting with any of the teachers to discuss concerns or track student’s progress, please contact us at the office or my e-mail. Contact info is on our website.
This Friday is our annual Cinco-de-Mayo celebration at lunch.
Thank you to our teachers will be participating in the next training for Leader in Me this Saturday. We are a Leader-in-Me school, one of a few high schools in the nation, on our way to becoming a Lighthouse School. Leader in Me is a school transformation program by Franklin-Covey based on the tenets of the Seven Habits of Highly Effecti People developing leadership in our students and staff leading to dramatic school changes and improvements.
We are now in our Open Enrollment period for next year. If you know of any students who would like to become VAPA students, please have their parent call our office before Friday so we may begin the enrollment process with them.
This is a good time for all students to meet with their teachers to be sure they understand course expectations for every class. Our school goals include improving our A-G course pass rate with a C or better leading to an increased graduation rate and more students prepared for college.
We have several upcoming events in May as we push towards the end of the school year with our Commencement Ceremonies on June 6.
Please go to our website and Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter links at www.vapalegacy.com for more information, calendar of events, and updates.
That’s it for now. I'll see you at school!
Take Care,
Dr. Edward Trimis, Principal
