Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Monday is a shortened day. Hola comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios! El lunes es un día más corto.
Our School Site Council and Local School Leadership Council meets on Monday at 4 PM in Rm. D100. If you are a member, please be sure to attend; reaching a quorem is critical for this meeting.
This week we will have our Student-Led Parent Conference Night on Thursday from 5-7 pm.
Thank you to all of the juniors who came to school on Saturday for our special program to assist with math prep. There is one more session next week. Congrats to all of our students who started the Smarter Balanced State Assessments this past week. The exams which include English, math, and science are given to all juniors and are important to students individually and to our school as a whole.
Congratulations to the following groups. Congrats to our showchoir who competed last Friday at Los Alamitos High School and to our Color Guard who competed today at Warren High School. Several of our ensembles will be performing at the Eastside Arts Festival at Torres High School on Saturday. Please mark your calendars for the Spring Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, which will run from April 4th to the 6th.
A reminder to students to be aware of new clubs, auditions, and other opportunities by listening to morning announcements, fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
That’s it for now. Have a great week and I’ll see you at school!
Take Care,
Dr. Edward Trimis, Principal
