Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Monday is a late-start day. Hola Comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios! El lunes es un día de inicio tardío.
Today we welcomed the Visiting Team from the Western Association of Schools and College to Legacy VAPA. We wish them all the best in their short time with us as they review the tremendous progress we have made since the last visit in 2016 and learn about our plans forward to 2020 and our 10 Year Anniversary!
A huge thank you to our awesome Math Educators who started their college prep math sessions with our juniors yesterday. There will be 4 sessions in total with the main goal of helping our 11th graders be successful in math and prepared for the many exams coming in the Spring including SAT, AP, SBAC, and more. VAPA’s expectation is all 11th graders participate. If you missed yesterday, you have three more Saturdays to take advantage of this opportunity, March 9, 16, and 23. #vapasmart
Congratulations to the newest members of VAPA’s chapter of the National Honor Society, or NHS, inducted on Friday. Thank you to the teachers who nominated them and their families and friends who supported them. And thank you to the NHS sponsors, Ms. Dadrass and Ms. Solis. NHS is another example of programs that exemplify the high academic standards we have at Legacy VAPA. NHS is a competitive, internationally recognized organization that has thousands of members across the nation. Other such organizations at VAPA include the International Thespian Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Congratulations to Girls Basketball Team who ended their season in their quarter-final game in the CIF State Championships this week. We are super proud of our team and all they have accomplished this year and over the last several years. A huge thank you to Coach Estrada, his staff, families, and supporters.
Congratulations to our Cheer Team who placed 14th out of several teams at USA Nationals and will compete this Friday in the CIF City-Section Eastern Regionals. Congratulations to our Color Guard with an awesome performance at the WGASC Winter Guard competition on Saturday in Temecula. I encourage our Tiger community to come out and support them at their next competition at Warren High School in Downey on March 17.
We have several activities and events coming up as we focus on classroom instruction, our current accreditation visit by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, state assessments, and our school-based SAT. It is critical that our entire school community stay focused, students, families, teachers, and staff, so we meet or exceed our goals including our A-G pass rate and 100% graduation and attendance.

That’s it for now, have a great week and I'll see you at school!
Take Care,
