Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! Hola comunidad VAPA! ¡Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios!
First of all, a reminder to our community that the district’s Open Enrollment application window is now open. Anyone who is interested in attending VAPA, and not in the South Gate or Bell Zones of Choice, should see us at the office as soon as possible. Please spread the word.
Congratulations to Mrs. Cho and our vocal groups for a great Spring Fest performance last Friday. Please be sure to go to our next two Spring Fest Events, Bands, Orchestras, and Instrumental Groups on May 18, and Dance Groups and solos on May 25. All shows start at 6:30pm.
As we press closer and closer to the end of the school year, it is critical that all of our students complete any missed assignments and stay in constant communication with teachers about ways to raise grades.
A reminder that this week we will administer our last AP tests which will be followed soon by semester finals. We are also starting to schedule students into classes for next year so this is the perfect time to check with the counseling office to be sure we have the correct arts career path course, elective, or AP class scheduled for all students.
Congratulations to all of our sports teams who are starting to complete their seasons. Congrats to Swim and Track and Field and Boys Volleyball who have completed their play-off games and/or prelims and City Finals. Congrats to Baseball who still may play in play-offs and congrats to softball who won their first play-off game, 10-0 against Lakeview and play Roosevelt tomorrow at Roosevelt.
A reminder to students to be aware of auditions, scholarships, contests, internships, summer camps, and other opportunities by listening to PA announcements, seeing fliers on our bulletin boards, and checking our website and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook which are linked on the website at www.vapalegacy.com
That’s it for now. Have a great week and I’ll see you at school!
Take Care,
Dr. Edward Trimis, Principal
