Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements. Monday is a LATE START DAY. Students must be at school by 10 am.
Hola comunidad VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios. El lunes es el último día de inicio. Los estudiantes deben estar en la escuela a las diez de la mañana.
October is a month when we celebrate and commemorate many different events and people. A full list may be found in a news story on our website and on our social media platforms, both with links where more information may be found. To list a few, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LGBT History Month, Girls Empowerment Month, Bully Prevention Month, and College Awareness Month.
We have a busy week this week at VAPA. Thursday is our Student-Led Parent Conference Night from 5 to 7 pm. Please join us. This is your opportunity to hear how your child is doing in every class and schedule appointments with counselors and teachers as needed. On Friday we will have our next home football game against South Gate High School. We are expected a packed stadium, so please get your tickets early.
We are now in the Zone of Choice and Open Enrollment Recruitment season with the first round of applications due by November 8, 2018. Thank you to our VAPA Performance Ambassadors performed at many recruitment events including our Open House on Saturday, and our teachers, staff, and directors who supported them. If you know of any families of 8th grade students, especially those that live in the South Gate and Bell area, please refer them to us so we can let them know all we have to offer. We will be giving school tours every Wednesday and Friday for the next 2 months.
Please go to our website and Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter linked on the site at www.vapalegacy.com for more information and updates including a daily live stream of our morning announcements.
That’s it for now. I'll see you at school!
