Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Comfort is a luxurious word in our culture. Some people have the means to provide comfort for themselves no matter the price. Others do not have the same means, but look to other things to find comfort. 

This week, we look at why bad things happen, what we can do about it and who has the answers. 

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. But if anyone had the world and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18
