Harry interviews Gerry McKeveny, father of the late Travis McKeveny and vocalist for the Famous Doctor Scanlon Band, who have been gearing up for today's release of Travis's posthumous album From Dublin To Duluth, as well as tomorrow night's album release celebration happening at the Boulton Center in Bay Shore.

A talented singer-songwriter who was building career momentum before his passing, Travis left behind detailed blueprints for what would become From Dublin to Duluth, which Gerry led the charge in composing. Gerry talks about the formation of the Famous Doctor Scanlon Band, sharing lead vocals with Pete Mancini, and the process of raising money to complete the record.

On this first Friday of October, Amy Zavatto of Northforker and Southforker Magazines sits down with Harry to talk about some exciting events coming up this weekend!

On the North Fork– The final “First Fridays” event of the year happens at Love Lane in Mattituck, from 6-9 pm tonight. The Hallockville Country Fair in Riverhead takes place at the Hallockville Museum Farm on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring everything from colonial cooking demos to a scarecrow-making contest. In Greenport, the Chowderfest happens at Port from Noon to 4 pm on Saturday, where local restaurants compete to see who has the best chowder.

On the South Fork– the Hamptons International Film Festival kicks off this weekend; The 14th annual Southampton Fest happens Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm in Agawam Park; The Springs fest takes place at Parsons Blacksmith Shop on Saturday from 4-7 pm, celebrating the history and heritage of Springs with live music and local beer. Finally, the Sag Harbor American Music Festival hits Mashashimuet Park after being rescheduled due to the Nor’easter: It’s Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm, with free admission.

Amy Zavatto - Editor-in-Chief of Northforker and Southforker Magazine - joins Harry with a mostly rain-or-shine rundown in anticipation of this weekend’s weather. Up on the North Fork, The Smithereens will perform at The Suffolk in Riverhead tonight, featuring Marshall Crenshaw on vocals. Amy also previews the Autumn Antiques, Fine Art & Crafts Fair at the Southold Historical Museum, and the Fall Festival at the Shops at East Wind in Wading River, complete with live music, line dancing, and food trucks.

Down on the South Fork, Amy covers journalist Juana Libedinsky's talk on her new memoir, Downhill, at Southampton Arts Center, followed by a change of pace with the Ha-Ha-Hamptons Comedy Tour at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, headlined by Bob Nelson. She also spotlights the Imagination Play Project Pop-Up at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, a free all-ages creative play event.
