小刚: 小宝, this has to do with the lunar calendar. The Gregorian calendar we use usually has 365 days in a year, but the lunar calendar is based on the changes in the moon's phases. Sometimes it adds an extra month, called an intercalary month.

小刚: You could say that, but the main reason is that a lunar year is about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian year, so an extra month is added every few years to better align the time with the four seasons.
