This week our focus is medical mysteries. These are the medical oddities you didn’t know existed. Nydia shares with us the story of the Guevedoces of the Dominican Republic. A condition that will leave you with more questions than answers. Dana tells us about the mysterious and devastating disease that is known throughout Papua New Guinea as Kuru or Laughing Disease. The source of the disease will surprise you.
For dinner, we went with Dominican Tres Golpes Mangu and man it was good. For dessert, we had Papua New Guinea banana cake with chocolate sauce. It was as delicious as that sounds. Our wine was Honoro Vera, a 2018, Cabernet Sauvignon which had a deep ruby red color and tasted of spices and sweetness. For under $10, it was a tasty wine.
