Palisade, Nevada had the distinction of being called "The Toughest Town West of Chicago" in the late 1870s. Passengers riding the train from San Francisco to Chicago would stop at Palisades on the way. There they would be "greeted" with frequent gunfights, raids, hangings and bank robberies. Passengers would flee back to the train in terror. But unbeknownst to the passengers, everything thing they saw was a hoax! Join us on this Weird History episode to find out how it all started; who participated; and how long it went on and what happened to Palisade after it all ended.
