Welcome to our first two-parter Weird History! This week we are discussing The Sparrow Wars that occurred in China and America. Part One: What do you get when a dictator declares war on pests and animals, causing the millions of citizens to go out and kill them? One of the biggest ecological disasters in human history! From 1958-60 the Four Pest Campaign raged in China, rousing its citizens to do their duty for their country. But what happens when you kill off a natural predator?
