Let the Glory Shine
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
And Dwelt Among Us
...but I will not go up among you, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people. Exodus 33:3
Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. Exodus 33:7
Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to care, as a man speaks to his fried. Exodus 33:11
... My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14
Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” Exodus 33:18
We have seen his glory
“I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The LORD.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” Exodus 33:19-20
The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgressions and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and fourth generations.
Let the Glory change us and others
And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. And he said, “if now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance. Exodus 34:5-9
And he said, “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all you people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all earth or in Amy nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. Exodus 34:10
Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? 2 Cor. 3:7-8
Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end... for to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remain unlisted, because only though Christ is it taken away.... But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Not the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom... For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. 3:12-4:6
