As a documentary filmmaker I’ve noticed that there’s a special kind of story that we share — colorful stories that become part our own personal myth. We spin them and toss them around. They often times evolve and get embellished. These stories not only shape our opinions, give us new perspectives and a shared sense of history but they also give meaning and color to our lives. At its heart, these stories connect us and bring us together.
