What is up everyone!! Welcome to The Up-and-Coming Drummer Podcast!! I am beyond excited to bring you the very first episode of the show!
In this Episode, you guys will get the opportunity to learn a little bit about your host....ME!! My name is Chris Langan, and I'm a Professional Drummer and Educator from Northeastern, Pennsylvania. I've been playing drums for over 32 years, and teaching for right around 12 years.
Drumming is my oxygen. I've played all over, in many different bands, in many different styles. I've learned so much over the years, and met so many incredible people. Over the last year or so, I started exploring the "online" side of drumming. I started off with a little youtube channel, and have quickly expanded in to every social platform I could get my hands on!
It didn't take long for me to see how enormous the drumming community was online. I found myself spending less time playing in clubs, and more time filming drum videos! I became fascinated with this world of online drumming, and wanted to learn about all of these phenomenal drummers I was seeing. These guys were building their brand and influence through their social media pages, growing loyal followings of tens to hundreds of thousands of fans. I quickly found myself carving out my own spot online, and was learning the ropes of how to build my own brand.
As I started to grow on my platforms, I began to become friends with drummers from all around the world. The more I spoke with these drummers, the more fascinated I became with how they have built their careers. I was already a huge fan of podcasts, and one day it dawned on me that maybe I should start a show. I could get to talk to all of these killer drummers, and get to know them on a more personal level. I realized that thousands of people follow these drummers on a daily basis, and how cool would it be to get to hear their story! At the same time, they could share some cool tips, tricks, and advice to the people who look up to them. So with alot of hard work and patience, I started putting together the pieces of the puzzle that would eventually form this show!
So come along and listen to the stories of these Up and Coming Drummers. Along with in depth interviews, you can also expect to hear discussions on gear, education, drumming trends, how to's, and lots more. Welcome to the Show!
