In this episode I talk about Mayor Bloomberg of NYC swinging wildly with his uneven policies as his third term as NYC dictator is coming to an end. He is now proposing that public housing tenants be forced to use finger print systems to enter their buildings further isolating the poor from the rest in NYC based on policy. I ask, if all of these pressures on mainly Black and Hispanic New Yorkers are for the purpose of crime prevention, why are they not being applied to the biggest crime ridden neighborhood in the city, Wall Street!
I also give an update on the NYC mayoral race. Can Bill De Blasio really seize the moment and take this race from Quinn? Is his son’s afro powerful enough to keep the city hypnotized another three weeks? I also discuss how pregnant girlfriend has moved me over to the De Blasio camp.
In the new American Justice segment, I discuss Fremont California’s new jail policy which allows those that can afford it to turn their prison sentences into lavish hotel room stays. 155 dollars a day could afford you private media centers with high speed wireless and all the conveniences of a hotel. Hard time is no longer for criminals, now it’s only for those that can not afford luxury.
It pays to be a politician, let me count the ways. I give three examples of politicians using clout, money to influence their bad behaviors while we the tax payers carry the burdens and stand by and watch. I use NYC Assemblyman Vito Lopez, ex-governor of New York State and current candidate for NYC comptroller Elliot Spitzer and San Diego Mayor Bob Filner as examples.
The annihilation of the middle class. I talk about how the low wage worker strikes are connected to the policies that have ravaged the middle class and upper mobility of poor people in America.
Finally I close the show with another review/recommendation. The Showtime documentary series, Oliver Stone’s The Untold History of The United States is a must watch historical documentary of America’s role in world politics and war from World War I until now. This documentary confirms a lot of my views in these podcast and are undoubtedly the best series I have seen up to this point.
