“Welcome to the war.” That’s how Timothy Warner greeted a group of people at Fuller Seminary. What war? The one you’re already in.

Over the past 150 years, the western world (including the church) has downplayed the reality of the unseen realm and spiritual warfare. Beaudelaire was right: “The devil’s greatest trick is to convince us he doesn’t exist.” This leaves us vulnerable.

This sermon explains Daniel 10 and the mysterious battle between archangels and a demon-prince of Persia. The battle lasted 21 days, the exact amount of time Daniel was fasting down on earth. What does this teach us about the unseen realm, and how might we live more wisely under the power of Jesus?

Perhaps the biggest challenge facing most Christians today is not that they won’t spend eternity with God but that they don’t spend today with God.
