I've been working on this novel for several years. This is an excerpt from the middle. I hope you enjoy it.
My brother and I went camping in New Braunfels with two of our favorite people, Sabrina and Jacob. While canoeing on the river, Jacob had an encounter with flotilla of turtles that none of us will ever forget.
What happens when weak ankles take on metal landscape edging? Well, I can tell you it's not good. This hilarious retelling of an incident that took place in college never fails to make me cackle with laughter.
A deeply personal reflection of stillbirth, grief, and the son whose birthday still comes every August 21st. Nineteen years later, I share his story- and why our babies deserve to be remembered, spoken about, and loved out loud.
This episode was the hardest for me to record.
It comes out August 21st.
Payton's Birthday.
I had never been drunk, never done drugs, and had absolutely zero experience with edibles. Then three miserable days without my restless leg medication led me to a friend’s “special” brownie—and one very important question I probably should have asked first: How much of this thing am I supposed to eat? What followed involved uncontrollable giggling, a spinning room, melting into a mattress, a very concerned husband, a phone call to my mother, the memory of a goldfish, and one spectacularly useless brownie.
Turns out there’s a very good reason people only eat a tiny piece. 😂
A story about childhood, freedom and the ordinary moments that became magical.
And I recorded this episode on my parents' 54th Wedding Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!
Ever have your husband text you a photo without any warning? Well, let's just say THIS photo was one for the record books!
We’re Kristina and Gary—married for more than 23 years and living a life that definitely didn’t follow the plan.
This is a podcast about marriage, family, caregiving, memoirs, mishaps, ridiculous stories, hard seasons, lots of laughter, and finding the good stuff somewhere in the middle of all of it.
In this short pilot episode, we’re introducing ourselves, sharing why we decided to start a podcast, and giving you a little taste of what’s ahead.
Marriage. Memoirs. Mishaps. And everything in between.
