Publisher's Summary:
Crisis can be the most authentic version of self-transformation. Points of crisis bring us face-to-face with our deepest doubts and fears, and our most essential aspirations. And this means that our response to change is every bit as important as the change itself. Laura Day identifies several types of reactions to crisis, people may respond with denial, anxiety, rage, or depression. She tells listeners how to rethink each response, and she gives practical and personalized tools for turning the lowest times of life into life's greatest gift. Through the exercises, rituals, and activities Day prescribes, listeners can learn the best practices for rebuilding a more meaningful life. Getting through crisis is part acceptance, part reinvention, and this book provides invaluable lessons for closing one life chapter and beginning the next. Remember, as Laura Day says: Rock bottom can be the best place to start.

I may have to listen to this again.....
Laura Day is one of my favorites, However, what is in this audiobook is basically something we all know. I guess hearing the suggestions could be useful. Perhaps I have to listen to this audiobook again to see if I could learn anything from it (since it is a "motivational audiobook" and I am walking away with suggestions I already knew).
Wake Up
I listen to a lot of audiobooks. This one kept putting me to sleep. I've tried to listen sitting up at my desk with pen in hand ready to take notes and I fell asleep. Maybe Laura Day is a hypnotist? Or should be.
Pass on this one, at least in audio format. Maybe the printed book is better?
Common Sense
Maybe it was me, but I didn't learn anything new here.
Couldn't Have Made it Without This Book Laura Day!
A couple years ago, my life took several dramatic difficult turns, one painful life changing event on the heels of another. Unprepared, I felt as if all of my most coveted hopes and dreams were violently ripped from my heart and soul with such sudden imprecision, I was left emotionally crippled and unable to breathe. Even at its best, it seemed like the worst possible of times for me. That my life as I knew it was over. And so, recovering from the enormity of that pain, facing the uncertainty I felt about my present and future, and reconstructing a better more hopeful outcome was unfathomable. I felt I had little to look forward to and at times, live for. Yet, somehow at a deeper place I also felt the need to find that opportunity to now change my life in radically good, long lasting ways. "Welcome to Your Crisis" gave me the hope, the tools and insight I didn't have but desperately needed. Laura Day, by way of her own examples, taught me how to 'begin again'. To slowly put one foot in front of the other each day, to feed the cat, shower, eat, pray, sleep and take care of myself, little by little, to get back on my feet and eventually back in the game of Life. At some point I finally started to feel and see a real transformation taking hold. Now, I firmly believe I could not have made it through that period with my sanity in tact or done so remarkable well, given my circumstances, without Laura Day's work.
