Well Done! - Audio

Listen Later

Big Idea - Jesus continues to answer the question about how to be ready for his return. Waiting well means expecting His return at any time, and being prepared for it by making certain of our salvation. So, does that mean we can just rest in the confidence of salvation, and go about our daily lives with the hope that Jesus is coming again and leave it at that? Or does Jesus expect us to be living our life for some greater purpose?
This parable makes it clear that we cannot just go about our lives and do nothing of eternal value. Every true follower of Christ must live their life and steward all that God has put in our care, for the purpose of expanding His glory and increasing His Kingdom. To do nothing and make no eternal impact with our life is to prove we are not truly saved and d not really understand the character or the purpose of God. But, we who do know God and understand His purpose have the honor and responsibility to use all that He has entrusted to us to impact the world around us for His glory. We have the opportunity to leave an enteral impact in our own life, and the lives of those we know and have relationships with. Those who are diligent to use their life for Kingdom purposes will be ready to meet Jesus when He returns, and they will receive His affirmation, the privilege of ruling with Him and sharing together in the Father’s joy for all eternity. Those who live for the here and now, focused on the immediate rewards of this life will meet with God’s judgment.
