Well With My Soul - Part 15 (May 23, 2021)

Listen Later

John 4:7 (NIV) – [7] When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” [8] (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) [9] The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) [10] Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you LIVING WATER.” [11] “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this LIVING WATER? [12] Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?” [13] Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” [15] The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
1. Know the Living Water.
Jeremiah 17:13 (NIV) – [13] O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the LORD, the spring of LIVING WATER.
2. Ask for Living Water.
Luke 11:9 (AMP) – [9] So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you, [10] For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
3. Receive the Living Water.
John 7:37-39 (NIV) – [37] On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. [38] Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of LIVING WATER will flow from within him.” [39] By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
4. Trust the Living Water.
Jeremiah 2:13 (NIV) – [13] “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of LIVING WATER, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”
5. Drink the Living Water.
Revelation 7:9, 16-17 (NIV) – [9] After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb… [16] Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. [17] For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of LIVING WATER. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
