I didn’t realize how long it had been since I’d felt… playful.
Not happy—I’ve had plenty of happy moments. This was different. It was the feeling of being completely present, without anticipating what someone might need or thinking three steps ahead.
In this episode, I’m thinking about how easy it is to become the planner—the one who remembers, organizes, anticipates, and carries—and what can happen when that part of us gets most of the airtime.
A handful of Black-eyed Susans dancing in the wind reminded me that the playful, curious parts of us may not be gone. They may simply need a little room to come forward again.
This week, I’m wondering:
What part of you hasn’t had much room lately?
And what seems to wake that part up?
