Last week, we ran a COVID-19 news update on the slow vaccination rate in Africa and why women in the Gambia are holding off the taking the jab. One of the reasons why some women are holding off on being vaccinated against COVID-19 is because of concerns the jab could affect their fertility. Anti-vaccination campaigners appear to be fuelling these fears via social media and misleading women into thinking the vaccine may affect their chance of getting pregnant now or in future, or increase their risk of a miscarriage.
