Commentators have been arguing about the role of social class in determining life chances for many years. The concept of 'class' seems to have become increasingly complex, while at the same time we continue to see significant differentials in life chances within the UK. This event looked at where we are now in terms of class difference and social mobility in the UK. The debate was chaired by David Walker.
