Phocabulary:

Depth of field (DOF) - The area of an image that is in focus. A large depth of field or “deep” focus is when most of the elements in your photo are in focus. A small depth of field of “shallow” focus is when on element at a particular distance is in focus.

Large aperture = shallow depth of field

Small aperture = large depth of field
