Matt Wilcock, Sam Bean and Dave Haley have all been active important participants of the extreme metal community for thirty years. They're past and present members of a plethora of bands and throughout that time the trio's ability to singularly and collectively compose and release music that is not only relevant but is also as brutal as the environment we find ourselves in here in 2021. Their latest joint venture is known as Werewolves which sees the release of their sophomore album What A Time To Be Alive; and whilst it is seen by its members as an opportunity to write and release something with speed and impunity, Werewolves in no way suffer from the possibility of not getting noticed within the metal realm thanks to their excellence in crafting raw, unadulterated traditional extreme death metal the way it was always intended.
Wilcock and Bean sat down with HEAVY to discuss a wide array of topics including their history as artists and musicians covering their varied and influential careers as well as the formation of their current venture being Werewolves.
