Wesli has released a new record which is truly epic. Makaya is a collection of songs from and about Haiti, in the many styles of Haitian culture from traditional to modern. The history of Haiti is rife with exploitation from colonial powers, and still to this day Haiti is a sacrifice zone where violence and political instability serve the interests of those who seek to exploit the country for natural resources.

Wesli tells us some of his personal story, from whence much of his inspiration comes, and about this music which is alive and colorful.
