Hundreds of thousands of football fans, players, coaches and umpires at all nine AFL matches this weekend will pause to acknowledge violence against women.

The initiative has been prompted by a letter from West Coast Eagles CEO Don Pyke, urging club bosses to listen to the thousands who rallied across the country last week.
