West Nile cases discovered in Cache Valley

Two cases of West Nile Virus have been discovered in individuals from Cache County, and officials from the Bear River Health Department are urging all residents within the district, which includes Cache, Rich and Box Elder counties, to take precautions. WNV is transmitted via mosquitos and the virus can cause illness ranging from mild, flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, and body aches, to severe neurological problems in rare cases. Mosquito abatement districts in Box Elder and Cache Counties have reported multiple traps where mosquitos have tested positive for WNV and more positive traps are expected in the coming days...
