Stories From History's Dust Bin

West Point Egg Nog Riot - Episode 23

Listen Later

How about a little “Christmas in July?”

Today’s story from History's Dust Bin is not one you would tell a young child as the fall asleep on Christmas Eve… and I doubt there will ever be a stop-action or Charlie Brown cartoon made on the subject.

But it’s a Christmas story just the same… not one of peace on earth and goodwill toward men, but rather a story about men at America’s finest military academy losing all common sense and even starting a riot all in the name of… eggnog.
Stories from History’s Dust Bin is a 3-volume set of historical short stories. These are the nuggets of gold that had fallen by the wayside… the little known and unusual. Many of these gems were destined to be forever lost until they were collected, dusted off and brought back to life by author Wayne Winterton.

Each podcast episode features one of the over 450 stories featured in Winterton’s Award-Winning* series, narrated by the author and his son, William Winterton.
