We're talking wetlands on The Big Show today from the Frederick Martins' farm in Madison County, Iowa! Frederick joins us to kick off the show to talk about the process of putting in a wetland on his property back in 2011. Iowa State University's Matt Helmers tells us how fast, hard rainfalls like today's show off the impact of wetlands and talks about how they are different from bio reactors and edge of field practices. One of the speakers at today's field day, IDALS' Susan Kozak, tells us about the programs in place to help achieve their goal of 30 new wetlands in Iowa per year. Shane Wolf from IDALS also tells us about the funding that will allow them to get to that goal from the previous capacity of 3 to 5 sites per year. We also have today's Three Big Things and we celebrate some rainfall in Southern Iowa!
