In 1989, Jacob Wetterling was kidnapped from a farm town in Central Minnesota. His case became a catalyst for change in Child Protection and Sex Crimes law. Jacob's face became an icon for Missing Children. But, Jacob's abduction may have been preventable; not only that, but it calls into question the methodology and role of law enforcement in the search for the missing and the investigation of crimes.
