We don't like to think about Risk, much less talk about it. There is something in our current society, that rejects even the concept of risk.

We prefer to ignore the downside, and avoid any possible negative outcomes.

This thinking has been around for a while, but in the past few years has become more and more prevalent.

I learned this early on, when I was new stock broker, trying to sell stocks and bonds. The more I talked about possible risk in an investment, the fewer sales I made. So, quickly, like all the other brokers, I learned to downplay any talk about risk.
