This is the WFHB Local News for Monday, December 29th, 2025.
In today’s newscast, we look back at our reporting on two ‘No Kings’ protests that took place this year. The No Kings protests were a series of political demonstrations against what the organizers describe as authoritarian policies of President Donald Trump and corruption in his administration.
Featured Segments:
In June 2025, a large crowd gathered at the Monroe County Courthouse Square for the “No Kings” protest. Organized in response to what participants describe as authoritarian overreach by the Trump administration, the rally drew hundreds of community members calling for democratic accountability and human rights protections. In today’s feature report, WFHB Correspondent Ella Cummings spoke with several organizers and community members who spoke out against the current administration – from immigration enforcement to foreign policy.
Then in October, hundreds more gathered on the Monroe County Courthouse lawn on Saturday for another “No Kings” protest. Protesters said they oppose what they see as authoritarian overreach by the Trump administration. WFHB News Correspondent Ella Cummings spoke with protesters and organizers of the demonstration. This report was anchored by Correspondent Zoe Moczek. That’s coming up next on the local news: a Year In Review.
