These are unofficial Primary Election Day results for a few key races in Monroe County. Numbers are taken from the county GIS results dashboard. These numbers include all in-person early voting, absentee votes and Election Day votes.
According to the county, 16,493 total ballots were cast among 89,940 registered voters. This makes for an 18 percent county-wide voter turnout.
Graphs for County Clerk and U.S. Congress District 9 include uncontested Republican races resulting in 100 percent of the vote. For more updates on incoming results, you can head to the Monroe County GIS web page or head to the B Square Bulletin for a breakdown of unofficial results.
Official results are released 10 days after the election.
Up next, WFHB News speaks with Trent Deckard, who won the County Commissioners race during last night’s primary election. Deckard’s campaign used the phrase “community of care” and focused on fostering collaboration and bridging divides. Deckard discusses what that community of care looks like in practice, how he plans to address affordable housing issues and how he intends to work with the county commissioners on the divisive new jail project. We turn to Correspondent Zoe Moczek for more.
