This is the WFHB Local News for Wednesday, September 11th, 2024.
That’s Bryce Greene, one of the leaders of the Palestine Solidarity Committee on the Indiana University campus. Hear more from Greene later in the show as part of a feature report highlighting six organizations reaching out to students at engagement events the first week of class.
Also coming up in the next half hour, “The Definite Do’s” on Better Beware – your weekly consumer-watchdog segment on WFHB. More following today’s feature.
Feature Reports:
With Indiana University back in session campus organizations are recruiting students to join their ranks. On Thursday of the first week of classes we embedded reporters at two campus engagement events – the Media School Student Activities Fair and the larger more general IU Student Involvement Fair.
Their report begins with Bryce Greene, one of the leaders of the IU Palestine Solidarity Committee. IU may be pursuing a misconduct case against Greene for violating IU’s new expressive activity policy. That policy prohibits protests after 11pm. Greene organized a candlelight vigil on August 25th. It started at 11:30pm.
Up next, WFHB Correspondent Janek Schaller speaks with Lindsey Levine who is with Sycamore Land Trust, and David VanGilden with the Hoosier Environmental Council about the Kirtland’s snake. For more, we turn to Janek Schaller.
