Monroe County Library Board of Trustees
The Monroe County Public Library Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, September 17th. Financial Officer Gary Lettelier spoke on the library’s 2026 budget, and offered insights on some of the changes.
Next, Library Director Grier Carson shared the Director’s Monthly Report.
Communications and Marketing Director Tori Lawhorn spoke on the media relations policy, and some changes that have been made with the policy, in order to keep up with modern technology changes.
Next, Children’s Services Manager Angelica Candelaria gave an update on their programming.
She shared the activities that children are able to do at the library, like summer reading and games and how they are important and beneficial to the children.
Next, the Manager of the Library’s South West Branch, Cathy Riley, gave an update to the board. One main point she touched on was that the library offers many programs for children, pre-teens and families. One being a cooking program for young children to really expand their learning and possibilities at a young age.
