WFHB DJ and Local Live Producer Nicki Seven speaks with Brian Bassett, the guitarist for the rock band, Foghat. Bassett discussed the band’s upcoming performance at the Brown County Music Center on July 24. He highlighted the band’s appreciation for historic theaters and their multi-generational fan base, including fans influenced by the Guitar Hero game. Bassett also touched on the resurgence of vinyl, the technical aspects of recording, and the band’s 50th anniversary of their album “Fool for the City.” For more, we turn to host Nicki Seven.

Up next – from July 2019 – the news department conducted an episode of Voices in the Street on summer jobs. We look back at the station archive to bring you that segment on WFHB Rewind.
Youth Radio Summer Camp is a partnership between WFHB, Banneker Community Center, and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Ellettsville. In five sessions the camp gives youth a crash course in all things broadcast radio. During the third week, campers told stories about friendship, explained what makes a good friend, and gave advice on how to make friends. We turn now to that segment on WFHB Rewind.
Now – from the news department – a number of student-run activities and events on the IU Bloomington campus were blindsided this school year by funding cuts. In the case of University Players, a student-run theater group, total funding was cut by 80%. Correspondent Harley Babbitt has the story of how some of these groups reacted to the cuts and how they will pivot to save their clubs in a feature report produced in partnership with The Media School at Indiana University.
