Listen Later

You’re listening to WFHB Rewind, where we bring you highlights from the week—and sometimes hidden gems you might have missed. Stay with us for a blend of thoughtful storytelling, vibrant interviews, and the unexpected moments that bring our airwaves to life. This is WFHB Rewind.

On Saturday, March, 8th, 2025 we welcomed Isabel Olive and her Chicago based project, Half Gringa. Half Gringa creates music informed by contemporary indie-rock + Latin American and Midwestern folk. In this session, Izzy and host/Music Director, Abby Noroozi, chatted about the concept and the making of the new album, Cosmovisión – released on March 28th. They also chatted about heading to SXSW, touring with folk artist Lizzie No, growing up & influences, the Chicago music scene, and the show that night at The Blockhouse. We turn to an excerpt from that Firehouse Session on WFHB Rewind.

Up next – Youth Radio brings us the Miscellaneous Legumes podcast in collaboration with Harmony School. Episode 4 of Miscellaneous Legumes is all about the paranormal. The crew tells ghost stories and go on a paranormal investigation of their own at Harmony School. We turn now to Miscellaneous Legumes on WFHB Rewind.

That was episode 4 of the Youth Radio podcast Miscellaneous Legumes in collaboration between WFHB and Harmony School. Up next – from the news department – WFHB Correspondent Tom Muckerheide covers the long-awaited expansion of the Monroe Convention Center. The story looks at the project’s timeline, the people involved and what the redesign could mean for downtown Bloomington including new jobs, community space and future events. We turn to Tom Muckerheide for more.
