What am I focused On?

2 Chronicles 20:1-30

It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat. 2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (which is En Gedi). 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

12b … For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

Crisis is a great clarifier, its a great reveler and it can bring about a narrowness of focus. Where that focus is placed will determine whether you walk in victory or defeat.  We do not need more revelation! We need to use the revelation we have already been given and focus our heart upon Him! 

V3 And Jehoshaphat feared,…

    • When something unexpected happens, fear is often the first thing that we feel. You are not unspiritual if you felt fear these last few weeks. You're not an immature believer if you have had to fight fear. 
    • The presence of fear is not an indicator of a lack of faith! 
    • In an attempt to stir faith in the body, if we are not careful, we can unintentionally vilify those who are experiencing fear. 
    • I am seeing division amplified in the body of Christ! (“Christians” applauding the arresting of pastors… Pastors calling believers names for not physically coming to church…) STOP IT! This is an embarrassment to God. Jesus said you will know them by their love for one another! 
    • Faith is not the absence of fear. Faith is the decision to believe a superior reality! 
      • I will believe the report of The Lord! 
      • We ALL experience the emotion of fear. It's what we do in those moments that will determine what spirit we allow to function in our life. How you CHOOSE to respond determine how God CAN respond. 


        • He set himself to seek the Lord! V3, v12  

          • His immediate response to fear was to set his focus on seeking The Lord!
          • Intimacy with The Father is the GREATEST weapon against fear! 
          • What you focus on determines what you feed! Focus on everything the world is pushing and feed fear. Focus on The Lord and the things of The Spirit and feed your faith. 
          • Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith! 
          • Jesus said if you abide in me and my WORDS abide in you… 

            • He called a fast. V3

              • Fear feeds on flesh. Fasting is the quickest way of killing flesh. 
              • Fasting bring us to a place where we can see and hear God clearly. Fasting is one way we set our focus! 
              • Fast social media and news outlets. Fast Fear and Feed Faith! 

                • He/they prayed! V4-13 

                they positioned themselves in covenant. V6 

                  • Prayer from a position of righteousness! Prayer as a son not a beggar!

                    • They strengthened themselves with testimonies. V6-8 

                      • The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 
                      • They will over come by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. 
                      • Remember all the Lord has done and brought you through! 
                      • Multi-generational church. We have men and women who have been through some things and know He is faithful! 

                        • The spirit of the lord fell and the word of the lord came! V14 

                          • When I set myself to seek The Lord, pray, fast, position myself in righteousness and rehearse the testimonies, The Spirit of God will move and The word of God will come! 
                          • Jahaziel; Has a 2 fold meaning. 1) To See God. 2) Seen By God. 
                          • When I set my focus and I start to see God, then I realize God sees me! 

                            • Praise and presence released authority! Authority brings victory! V18-22

                              • V19 Praise.  Praise releases Authority! Psalm 22:3. Enthroned on the praises of your people! 
                              • V22 Radical praise came before God moved. “Now when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes….
